    Demurrage and detention are very different, charged by varying parties around the world. And for years in the US, much of it was given away by the ocean carriers and shippers object to getting something for nothing and then having to pay for it.

    I am not sure where author gets his information from, here in Montreal after day 5 we get charged with demurrage fees that usully go at 115 USD per day, so taking above reference we must have the most expensive and unfair situation going on here at this port
