Canada rail strike ends as CN Rail and union make tentative deal

The Canadian National rail strike has come to an end one week after workers downed tools over pay and conditions. The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference Union said it had reached a tentative deal, a move that will quell fears of big hole in Canada’s GDP, which was expected to lose as much as C$2.2bn ($1.65bn) if the strike had lasted until Saturday, according to Bloomberg. CN carries about C$250bn-worth of goods annually.
