China’s electronics exporters desperate for escape from trade war

Intriguing on-the-ground report in the South China Morning Post from this week’s Hong Kong Electronics Fair, which shows the different responses of Chinese manufacturers to US tariffs on their goods. Some are relocating, some are holding their noses and paying the tariffs; others are looking at other markets, such as Europe and China. What was uniform at this year’s trade fair, a critical meeting place for exporters and importers, was that the number of international buyers was well down.
