Schiphol Airport is to spend €1m on an “early warning system” to alert pharma shippers of a temperature incursion in the supply chain.
Using money awarded by the government for research, the airport, with its Pharma Gateway Amsterdam (PGA) partners, will fund data collection which will be used to design and build the system.
Announcing it on the first birthday of the PGA, cargo director Jonas van Stekelenburg said the work would begin immediately, with initial results expected after the summer.
