Robert Van de Weg has launched his own business to advise air freight companies.

Mr Van de Weg, who until earlier this year was Volga-Dnepr Group’s SVP sales and marketing, has formed AirWay Cargo, a company focused on advising airlines, airports, GSAs and forwarders.

“The objective is to help them improve their cargo business in a pragmatic way,” he told The Loadstar. “The focus is mainly on network management, capacity and revenue management, product management and on organizational advice.”

Mr Van de Weg, an economist by education, has a wealth of experience in air freight and is well-respected by colleagues and rivals alike. Prior to heading sales at AirBridgeCargo Airlines and later Volga-Dnepr Group as a whole, he was sales and network chief in Cargolux management team for more than 11 years.

Stan Wraight, president of SASI, commented: “Robert’s contribution to air cargo and the rapidly changing environment we are living in, is great news for the industry. While we all acknowledge that history and experience is invaluable and Robert has that, he is also very forward thinking and progressive in knowing how we must address issues, and that’s what any potential clients he may secure, need at this time.”

Mr Van de Weg started his new venture in May, and said he is “pleased so far’ with the results.

Stop whining, grab your ass and start proving that you are the best.
      Sincerely
