Two interesting stories from Qatar. Qatar Airways has acquired 49% of loss-making RwandAir, just after buying a 60% stake in Kigali’s new airport in December. As The Africa Report notes, the deal could help Qatar Airways bypass the embargo which necessitates the carrier avoiding Saudi Arabian, UAE, Bahrain and Egyptian airspace. However, it appears as if relations maybe warming: the UAE has now restored mail services to Qatar, two years since the dispute began, reports Bloomberg.
