Customer advisory: Legal entity name change

Today the Mærsk UK team announced that “to continue our journey in becoming the global integrator of container logistics, connecting and simplifying your supply chains, last January 2019 we completed a re-organization of A. P. Moller-Maersk as one company across Ocean and Logistics & Services, with Damco freight forwarding as a separate business continuing under the Damco name.”

“To support this effort,” it added, “we are aligning the naming of our legal entities within our Ocean and Logistics & Services business (former Maersk, Maersk Line and Damco names) towards the Maersk name.

“As the next step we have renamed our legal entity in the UK within our Ocean and Logistics & Services business meaning that we have changed our current legal entity name from Damco UK Ltd. to Maersk Logistics and Services UK Ltd. This change has been officially registered with Companies House. Please note, this is a name change only and should have minimal impact on you and your business.”

They also noted that:

“At the moment our teams are working very hard on changing our internal and customer facing IT systems and applications to reflect the new entity name to ensure all our documentations (including invoices) will reflect the new legal name of Maersk Logistics and Services UK Ltd. We expect the changes to take place in the period of next 3-4 weeks. We will come back to you with firm cutover date so you can update your internal systems and master data. This will be extremely important so you can process invoices correctly and make payments timely.

“We thank you for your understanding and cooperation and look forward to continuing working with you in the future. In case of any questions, please contact your normal Maersk UK customer service representative.”
