Many moons ago, I knew a drug dealer called Big Paulie who once, before being caught smuggling a kilo of coke to a local guy – serving the other local guys who served other local guys – used to repeat that flawless supply and demand equilibrium for the goods he sold was a wonderful concept.

That held true only if all those who depended on the trade – however asset heavy or light the dealers – understood the massive collateral damage ...
