UPS may have launched a drone from the back of one of its trucks, but the technology will only make up 1% of the commercial delivery market by 2020, according to Supply Chain Dive. Quoting research by analysts Gartner, the report said that the reality of drones – despite potentially offering cost and time savings – remain locked in a logistical nightmare comprising privacy laws and weight limits, meant that legislation that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
