Lufthansa Cargo boss Peter Gerber has called on the WTO to become a “neutral agent” to ensure a level playing field between the world’s airlines. At a meeting in Leipzig, various German air freight bodies demanded new international rules to ensure fair competition. While, according to this (behind a paywall) article in the WSJ, which said a WTO executive dismissed calls for the organisation to arbitrate in the Gulf/US carrier spat, Mr Gerber said that if not the WTO, then a different body should be found, according to CargoForwarder.
