US-headquartered 3PL Crane Worldwide has appointed Jens Osterwald as MD Germany, replacing Christian Nielitz, who has been promoted to director of air freight EMEA.
Mr Osterwald has worked in the logistics industry for over two decades and most recently spent around five years as Korea country manager for Logwin. His move to Crane comes as the company moves to build up both its freight forwarding and contract logistics operations in Germany.
In addition, Crane has promoted Tino Meyer to the position of ocean/rail product director with a focus on developing its China-Europe rail services, and recruited Alexandros Kotarakos as director of airfreight in Germany, after more than six years as sales representative of United Airlines in the country.
“We have seen significant growth in our operations in Germany over the past year, particularly in our rail freight service,” said Jason Stretton, regional VP EMEA at Crane Worldwide Logistics.
“Our investment in people, with a deep understanding of client’s operational challenges and creative thinking to overcome difficult scenarios, is critical to our success.
“Growing organically, as we have done in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg, we have significant development plans for our business in Germany and are looking to continue to invest in our services and facilities in 2022.”
