Yesterday we learned that with a late US Thanksgiving and early Chinese new year there would be something of a rush to get shops restocked fast enough to make the sales they need at this time of year. Today, we learn that the ports have already done their bit – the US is now stocked for Christmas, according to this article. Volumes, apparently, don’t appear to be significantly higher than last year. But, if sales go well, perhaps there might be an opportunity for airfreight to enjoy a pokier peak.
