FedEx is raising its fuel surcharges from November 2 – a 1.5% to 1.75% increase in cost in express and international shipments, while ground services will rise between 0.5% and 1%. It is the second rise this year, following February’s more substantial hike, which was intended, according to SupplyChain24/7, to put FedEx and UPS on similar fee structures. But, FedEx notes here: “Big Brown [UPS] has collected significantly higher fuel fees from its customers all year”.
