Former Expeditors sales veteran Carol Kijac has been appointed chief sales officer of SEKO Logistics to drive the next phase of its global expansion, and will be responsible for global, local and strategic sales, as well as marketing and sales training.

She was mostly recently the principal of Peripheral Vision, which provided sales and business process consulting for global service organisations.

Prior to that, Ms Kijac had a 17-year career at Expeditors, ultimately as vice president sales and marketing in the Americas, where she was credited with helping to grow annual net revenues from $15m in 1999 to $500m in 2012.

She began her career with a two year stint at with UTi Worldwide working in route development, regional sales and as a national accounts manager.

SEKO chief executive William Wascher said: “Carol’s track record, particularly at Expeditors, speaks for itself and we are delighted that she has chosen to lead our sales and marketing at such an exciting time for our global business. Her ‘solve versus sell’ approach is a perfect fit for SEKO’s business model.

“Using our service capability and unique, customizable technology, Carol will lead our client acquisition and development with the emphasis on building sustainable customer partnerships. She is highly respected in the industry and by customers for her ability to understand the complexities of the supply chain.”

She will be based at the company’s headquarters in Chicago and report directly to Mr Wascher. The appointment comes after another strong year of growth for the company, which said its 2015 revenues for the US, UK and China alone exceeded $525m.
