A late Thanksgiving has cut six days off the US’s traditional buying spree – and retailers have altered their supply chains to ensure rapid shelf-refilling, as shops hope to gain 30% of their annual sales in the Thanksgiving to Christmas period. Amazon is to deliver on Sundays, partnering with USPS, Sony is renting temporary warehouses and GameStop Corp has booked extra space with UPS. Expect a busy month ahead.
