China chartering more seafood flights as Year of the Pig trots in

Happy New Year, China; tomorrow marks the first day of the Year of the Pig. According to Seafood Source, the last 365 days have seen an increase in the number of cargo aircraft bringing fresh and live seafood into the people’s republic. And it looks likely that this trend of increasing volumes will continue, with one Norwegian broadcaster suggesting 7,000 tonnes of salmon will be flown in this year. Perhaps most interesting about all this is that the demand has got so high, the industry is chartering aircraft to complete these flights.
