Ceva Logistics has appointed Niels Weithe as its global head of e-commerce.
The newly-created role will give Mr Weithe, based in Germany, responsibility for expanding the company’s B2C operations.
He brings with him more than 25 years’ experience in the supply chain sector, the last 20 at Arvato. He began as a key account manager before taking on a VP role in 2000, a decade later he became EVP. In 2014, he took over as president of consumer products.
Prior to joining Arvato, he spent four years as an IT consultant at Hamburg Süd.
Ceva’s contract logistics chief operating officer, Brett Bissell, said Mr Weithe brought “extensive” knowledge of supply chain services across IT, hi-tech, and consumer products to the role.
“Niels’ knowledge and expertise in this field will enable us to extend that all-important B2C solution on top of our B2B capabilities,” added Mr Bissell.
