There has been much focus on the Vietnamese air freight market lately, with indications that exports are enjoying healthy growth. Following the news that Samsung is to open its own air cargo terminal in Hanoi, VietJet, a three-year-old low cost carrier, has launched a cargo arm. It plans to expand the number of routes in South-east Asia on which it flies cargo to 28 this year, with 39 expected next year. It is not yet clear whether it also plans to invest in freighters, and the airline was not available for comment before publication.
