    On the subject of the UK economy, having spoken to several RHA members (hauliers) recently, most say they are busy despite the continuing economic uncertainty. It is still very tough and the cost of fuel continues to drive margins down. There are still insolvencies, but often there are other underlying reasons behind these.
    The Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham was a great success and the truck manufacturers and body builders all report order books are growing. If the haulage industry is a decent barometer of the UK economy, after all it moves 80% of all freight at some point, something is moving in the right direction.
