The battle of the UK box ports is heating up nicely, with Felixstowe delivering the latest PR blow to London Gateway. The Suffolk port hired consultants to analyse the costs of road haulage from the ports – and discovered that Felixstowe had a cost advantage of £26 per container. Expect the dialogue between Hutchison-owned Felixstowe and DP World’s Gateway to get increasingly noisy.
