'One FedEx' – what to expect
Let’s kick off
In what has been touted as the biggest threat to air freight – although more volumes will be taken from sea freight – the China-Europe rail service has been given yet another boost, this time by UPS. The integrator has added six stations to its FCL and LCL multimodal rail service, four in China as well as Duisberg, Germany and Warsaw in Poland. There are environmental benefits, temperature control and it’s 65% cheaper than air and 40% faster than ocean. Expect the demand for these services to grow and grow.
