European logistics and industrial property developer Baytree Logistics Properties, launched by AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets in 2015, has named Sascha Petersmann (pictured above) as head of Germany.
Based in Cologne, Mr Petersmann will report to Baytree managing director Rabih Modad, and his appointment follows Baytree’s first development site acquisition in Hannover.
Mr Modad said: “Sascha’s experience and track record of securing and delivering high-profile developments across Germany is integral to our business, as we expand our logistics activities in one of the most exciting European logistics markets.”
He will be responsible for developing Baytree’s German organisation and leading its project development activities throughout the country.
Mr Petersmann has over 10 years’ real estate logistics experience, with prior experience in the logistics and transport sector, and he joined the company from Prologis Germany, where he was vice president and market officer for Rhine-Main, South-Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Baytree said it intended to grow its presence in Germany by developing logistics and industrial assets in locations underpinned by a demand-supply imbalance. The recently acquired Hannover development site is zoned for industrial use and Baytree is proceeding with the demolition of existing structures on site.
