Fast-growing Scandinavian freight service provider SGL Transgroup has taken the novel step of appointing a professional philosopher to its advisory board.
The company, which has ambitious rapid growth targets, has already appointed ex-Panalpina chief Bruno Sidler to the board, and yesterday, the group announced that Morten Albæk (pictured above), founder and CEO of Voluntās, one of the fastest-growing Nordic consultancies, will become advisor to CEO Allan Melgaard and executive chairman Tom Gartland.
Mr Albæk is a philosopher, business executive, bestselling author and international public speaker who was ranked among ‘the 20 most inspiring marketers of the first 20 years of the 21st century’ by American marketing organisation The Internationalist.
“We are thrilled to have an international capacity like Morten Albæk joining our advisory council,” said Mr Melgaard. “We are delighted to draw even further on his competencies to contribute to SGL TransGroup’s journey towards becoming the world’s most humane and purpose-driven logistics company.”
“I am extremely grateful to get the opportunity and the trust to become part of the advisory council of SGL TransGroup – a company I already know well,” Mr Albæk said.
“In an industry usually dominated by competition based on price-point and delivery time, SGL TransGroup sets itself apart when it comes to its human approach to doing business,” he added.
