Higher prices and lower service levels have been cited as the main reasons that German shippers are against the P3 alliance in the long term, according to comments filed with the US FMC. While some shippers have signed forms of support provided by the shipping lines, the German shipper groups said that although the P3 could offer short-term benefits such as stability, longer-term it would mean higher costs for customers.
