A fire at a Gap distribution centre could put back its plans to turn around a business struggling to compete with fast-fashion chains – and in the midst of back-to-school season orders. The fire, which took two days to contain, was at a warehouse in New York which represents about 10% of the company’s nationwide warehouse capacity. Wells Fargo warned of a “meaningful bottleneck” and “uncertainty”.
