Russian Railways-owned GGEFCO has named Anthony Gunn as executive vice president of its freight forwarding division.
Mr Gunn has over 25 years’ experience in the sector and was most recently MD Europe at XPO Logistics, which he joined as part of the management team of Menlo, the contract logistics operation of Con-way, after it was acquired by XPO in 2015.
He joined Menlo in 2000, where he held various management positions. During the 16 years spent in Menlo Mr Gunn built a team of experts to double the region’s turnover and profit.
He began his career in the defence industry in purchasing and supply services. He then moved into the semiconductor industry, where he headed up supply chain management for a leading manufacturer in the US and Europe.
Mr Gunn said: “I am happy to join the Gefco group, a leader in automotive and industrial logistics. I see plenty of opportunities for synergies within Gefco that will benefit our customers, such as developing strategic corridors and moving forward in digitalisation.”
