ASL Aviation has appointed Ulf Weber (pictured above) as chief executive of ASL Airlines Belgium – the carrier formed through ASL’s acquisition of TNT Airways last year.
Mr Weber will step into a role that was held on an interim basis by ASL Europe chief executive Colin Grant. Mr Grant will remain involved with the new carrier, while continuing his existing commitments with ASL Europe.
Mr Weber confirmed he would be stepping down as Aerologic’s managing director, a post he has held since its formation by Lufthansa and DHL Express in 2009.
During his 20-year career in aviation, Mr Weber has also worked for Brussels Airlines, Swiss International Airlines and Boston Consulting Group.
“Ulf is an accomplished international aviation professional and his excellent record makes him a perfect fit for us,” said ASL Aviation Group chief executive Hugh Flynn.
