Maersk vessel Safmarine Meru collided with a German containership on Saturday, off the coast of China, east of Ningbo. The crews of both ships are safe, after a fire broke out on the Maersk vessel, which is said to have “severe damage’. The ship had fewer than 400 full containers on board, according to media, and was deployed on the Danish Line’s TP18 service. The other ship, Northern Jasper, is operated by Norddeutsche Reederei.
