UP - Beth Whited

The University of Denver’s Transportation Institute has elected four new members to its board of directors, which now comprises 45 transport experts.

Chief human resources officer at Union Pacific, Beth Whited, (above) is one, continuing UP’s “long tradition of support” for the institute.

Ms Whited has been with the US railroad for more than a decade and has held multiple managerial roles.

Canadian National MD of supply chain sales Gary Crowther replaces the railroad’s board member Keith Reardon, whose term has come to an end. With Mr Crowther, the university has one of its own alumni on the board.

Pacific Geosource president and founder Michael Frey’s decision to join the board extends the company’s commitment to the institute, following its sponsorship of a student on its masters programme.

And vice president of Air Canada Cargo Tim Strauss becomes the first board member from the air freight business, the university saying it was keen to expand its perspective in this area.

Prior to joining Air Canada in 2017, he spent more than five years at Hawaiian Airlines, serving as both managing director of cargo and its vice president.
