Cargotec chief information officer Soili Makinen has joined the company’s executive board.
Ms Makinen’s appointment, announced today, continues her more than decade-long tenure at Cargotec and underlines the company’s determination to push through a digitalisation strategy.
Chief executive Mika Vehvilainen said digitalisation was at “the core” of the company’s strategy, describing it as a “critical enabler” for future business growth.
“By inviting Soili to join the executive board, I want to first of all recognise the good work she has done in leading our digitalisation programmes for the past three years,” added Mr Vehvilainen.
“We have developed many fundamentals, for example our digitalisation roadmap, our IoT cloud platform and connectivity solutions, as well as a digital business accelerator programme.”
