Interesting market analysis from the CCO of Maersk, Vincent Clerc. He argues that it is at a normal cyclical low point, no different from any other. And that the means to solve it is the same as in the past: carrier collaboration. But he also makes the point that it will take time to “crystalise” the economies of scale, and that with the new shape of alliances, carriers will need to re-think their networks amid “fluctuating reliability” for a while. Worth a read.
