Gabriela Hiitola will become senior vice-president of Finnair Cargo on 1 February, after a 24-year career ...
Finnair Cargo has snapped up a former Nokia and Microsoft logistics manager. Fredrik Wildtgrube joins the airline as head of global sales on January 11.
Most recently with Microsoft, Mr Wildtgrube was logistics account manager and head of distribution services for Nokia. He has also worked for Waco Logistics (World Air Cargo Organisation) and RH Freight.
“I warmly welcome Fredrik to Finnair Cargo. Together with his business and goal-oriented attitude and excellent experience in both logistics and sales leadership, I am sure that he is the right person to lead our global cargo sales team supporting Finnair Cargo’s growth,” said Janne Tarvainen, Finnair VP head of cargo.
Finnair Cargo has been busy in the past year, building a new cool chain facility and partnering with IAG Cargo. It has started two shared freighter flights a week with IAG, between Helsinki and London. Market analysts have speculated that the carrier is positioning itself to be bought – possibly by IAG.
Last month its cargo capacity in ATKs grew 31.6%, while RTKs grew 7.1% year-on year. Load factors were 62.5%.
