FedEx chief financial officer Alan Graf, (pictured above left) is to retire at the end of the year.

Corporate vice president and treasurer Mike Lenz (pictured, right) will take over the CFO role in September, while Mr Graf stays on as executive vice president and senior adviser until the year-end.

Mr Graf has been at FedEx for 40 years, becoming the corporation’s CFO in 1998.

“Alan has helped build and transform this company,” said Fred Smith, and chief executive officer. “He has been part of every significant decision and helped navigate tremendous growth, strategic investments, international acquisitions and global challenges. FedEx would not be the $69bn globally admired corporation it is today without his leadership.”

Mr Lenz, meanwhile, has been at FedEx since 2005, initially as vice president finance of FedEx Office. Prior to that he worked at American Airlines.

Mr Lenz will be succeeded by Bert Napier, currently regional president of Europe and chief executive of TNT. He, in turn, will be replaced by Karen Reddington, regional president for FedEx Express Asia Pacific. North and South Pacific senior vice president Kawal Preet will take on Ms Reddington’s role.
