UPDATED 10/02/2026 following ASG response.
Perhaps the biggest cargo name in Avia Solutions Group’s (ASG) stable, Chapman Freeborn is waving goodbye to its CFO of four years, Vaida Kojaliene.
While no formal announcement has been made, Ms Kojaliene has amended her LinkedIn profile to list February 2026 as the date she left the company.
Some sources told The Loadstar the move was “quite unexpected”, but others, closer to Ms Kojaliene, denied claims it was linked to stories surrounding ASG’s sale of SmartLynx and that carrier’s subsequent request for bankruptcy protection, pointing to structural issues at ASG.
One told The Loadstar: “Her departure was not sudden but has been a long time in planning, with a new guy in place. She has been with Chapman for four years and wants a break.”
Nonetheless, sources have come out to corroborate the allegations by Air Justice, set up by Blacklist.Aero CEO Artem Degtiarov to represent SmartLynx’s creditors, that ASG sold the carrier knowing that it was on the verge of collapse and is itself facing difficulties.
Prior to joining the charter broker, Ms Kojaliene spent 15 years at Swedish healthcare firm Diaverum in a number of roles, prior to being appointed VP of group financial performance.
