HANGZHOU, Jan 21 (Bernama) — A cargo train linking east China and five central Asian nations began operation on Monday amid hopes it will boost development of the Silk Road economic belt spanning the Eurasian continent, Xinhua news agency reported.
The train travels 4,600 kilometres from Yiwu city in Zhejiang Province, passes through the Alataw Pass in China’s far west Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and arrives in Almaty city in Kazakhstan.
