PRESS RELEASE

ANA operates over 500 cargo only flights from Europe to Japan in FY2020 –

ANA will operate two cargo-only flights between Munich, Germany, and Tokyo (Haneda), Japan on 26th and 28th March 2021, using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with a 35-ton lower deck capacity.*

ANA added Munich to its international network in July 2010 with daily flights from Tokyo.

Following the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and border closures, ANA took the decision to suspend its capacity between Munich and Haneda. By returning to Munich, we are reopening trade lanes between Japan and southern Germany for automotive parts, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and other general cargo as demand return.

As Sadami SUGIMOTO, Vice President of ANA Cargo Marketing and Services, EMEA, says: “ANA’s return to Munich is great news and the support from our customers and partners has been overwhelming. The reintroduction of cargo flights is an important step in strengthening economic relations between Japan and Germany. We will continue to explore all opportunities and also hope to resume passenger flights before long”.

Since APR 2020, 406 non-passenger cargo only fights (total over 8,500t) and 64 freighters (total over 5,000t) have been operated as of end of 15 March 2021 from Europe.

ANA plan to operate total of 518 of cargo only flights (passenger aircraft and freighters) in Fiscal Year 2020, ending in March.

ANA is currently operating passenger and cargo-only flights from Frankfurt, London, Paris, and Brussels as well as a twice-weekly B777F Freighter from Frankfurt.

In Germany, the cargo General Sales Agent, ATC Aviation Services AG, represents ANA cargo.
