It suggests the inflexibility of warehouse deals has become ever more apparent against the increasing flexibility of the wider supply chain. Going further, it claims these spaces could present a perfect source of revenue and wider flexibility still, with excess space being rented out. All this, however, hinges on a move away from “long drawn-out” searches and “complex” negotiations for the space in the first place, and instead adopting a “warehouse as a service” model.
