The impact of container shipping overcapacity appears to have finally begun to make itself felt at some of the world’s leading freight forwarders, if the most recent results at Kuehne + Nagel are anything to go by. The introduction of Maersk’s triple-E vessels resulted in highly volatile freight rates, according to the Swiss company, which described the situation as “cutthroat competition”.
