The end could be nigh… According to Bloomberg, the factory which makes 747-8F fueslages is selling off equipment. Triumph Group is the largest supplier to the 747-8 programme, but is selling parts from its plant in an online auction. Boeing has just 18 unfulfilled 747-8F orders, mostly for UPS, and Triumph is to fulfil these. But with no orders this year as cargo demand has struggled, the question mark over the future of the 747-8F is looming large. (If you can’t access Bloomberg, try here.)
