Entirely predictable – Eurotunnel is to appeal against the recent decision from the UK’s competition commission that it cannot continue to operate cross-Channel rail services and own three former SeaFrance ferries, which it had proposed to lease out to MyFerryLink, a cooperative of former SeaFrance employees. The company had instead been given a six-month window to sell at least two of the vessels. Before that, however, it is heading to the appeals tribunal in London to argue that the commission’s decision was “unfair” and question the validity of evidence submitted by rival DFDS.
