A cold storage facility for vegetables and perishable goods has been commissioned at the cargo terminal of India’s Tiruchirapalli International Airport. The five-tonne container will be used to store perishables such as vegetables, fruits, and flowers which constitute nearly 90% of the volume of exports from the airport. With this new addition, exporters can store perishable consignments at the cold chamber free of cost if held up by flight delays, cancellation or offloading, or cargo booked in advance.
