Spain is eager to export stone fruit to China, after the country opened up its import market. According to this article, it’s all about quality, not quantity however. And the logistics may be tricky. The first shipments, much of which was nectarines, had to go via air as the fruit has a shorted shelf like after being kept cold for two weeks. So far 11 companies have signed up to export to China this year, with volumes expected to reach 12,000 tonnes next year.
