As was expected, the European Commission has officially blocked the proposed acquisition of TNT Express by UPS. Here you will find the full reasons for the EC’s decision, which was previously described to The Loadstar as “a real mistake”. Nonetheless, EC competition commissioner Joaquim Almunia pointed to the next-day delivery market and argued businesses would have been left with reduced choice and, probably, higher prices.
