Amazon has made its first investment into the French market with the acquisition of a 25% stake in Colis Privé, a delivery company that competes in France against the likes of state-owned La Poste and global giants TNT, DHL, UPS and FedEx to deliver parcels.
It is estimated that Amazon ships around 50 million packages annually in France and would be able to better control distribution through this partnership and potentially reduce costs. These cost savings could be passed to users in France.
