In a managerial shake-up, GAC North America Logistics has appointed Paul Fardy (pictured above) as managing director, replacing Claus Schensema who moves on to become director of general freight.
Mr Fardy joins the North American office from GAC Group’s corporate headquarters in Dubai, where he served as management systems director. He has over a decade of experience at GAC, having previously headed up its Malaysia office as managing director.
Before joining the group, Mr Fardy was employed by Kuwait Transcontinental Shipping, again as its managing director.
Mr Schensema was appointed managing director of North America in 2014, which followed a 12-year spell as managing director of GAC Forwarding & Shipping in Shanghai.
In 2015, GAC expanded its US operations with the addition of offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and Los Angeles. Lars Heisselberg, group vice president of the Americas, said: “These appointments will strengthen our ability to meet customer requirements on the local, regional and global scale.”
