It’s short – but interesting. Deutsche Bahn, whose chief executive will tomorrow present a turnaround plan for the ailing rail company to the supervisory board, is to cut loss-making freight routes. The company, which is expected shortly to post its first loss in more than a decade, plans to cut its annual capacity to 65.5bn tonne km in 2017 – down 4.5bn on this year.
