Korea seems to be following Japan in the M&A race. CJ Korea Express has said it wants to acquire Daewoo Logistics, to help fulfil an aim to make it one of the top five global logistics companies by 2020. It recently lost out on APL Logistics and is likely to be bidding against POSCO on this deal. Daewoo Logistics, meanwhile, saw operating profits spike 490% last year through its networks in Japan, China, Singapore, Indonesia and Myanmar.
