European digital road freight forwarder sennder has appointed Anthony Guillouet (pictured above) as its new MD of France.
He replaces Maxime Legardez, who founded Everoad, which sennder acquired in June last year, and who has now left the company.
Mr Guillouet has worked in the road freight industry for over 20 years, holding various roles at DB Schenker – most recently land sales director & head of road brokerage, where he managed a team of 450 in France.
Since sennder’s acquisition of Everoad, the combined business has experienced double-digit percentage growth, the company said, while France accounts for 10.7% of total road freight revenue in Europe and is a “key geography for European transport and one of sennder’s core markets”.
Tom Christenson, COO at sennder said: “I have full faith that Anthony will continue the fantastic work taking place at sennder France, during what is an exciting time for the region.
“In just a few years, the quality of the technological solutions developed by the sennder team and the strength of our model have enabled us to consolidate our position as the European leader in digital road freight,” he added.
The European trucking market remains highly fragmented, with its top five largest road freight businesses managing less than 5% of the total loads.
“I am delighted to join sennder and contribute to the further development of the company,” Mr Guillouet said.
“I will leverage my 20 years of road freight managerial and operational experience to scale sennder’s platform across France and deploy the industry’s latest technology in my home market.
“The need to make transport more sustainable is one of the biggest challenges facing the freight industry.”
