Supply chain radar: Pay attention to the Qantas blame game play
The irony of unintended consequences
The fight for air cargo in Australia is looking quite intense, with Qantas and Virgin Australia jostling for position. Today’s news is from Qantas, which has set aside six domestic freighters for its contracts with Australia Post.
The airline won the A$500m five-year contract last year, much of which is expected to be e-commerce business. Qantas also beat competition from Virgin for Toll’s business. In contrast, Virgin Australia, which set up its own in-house cargo division last year, won TNT’s local business.
