Amazon may be preparing the groundwork for drones – but UPS has some reservations. Not only, it says, is the regulatory framework nowhere near ready, butit also questions the benefits of drones. The integrator ihas been examining the logistics of drones, and wonders where the efficiencies are in a parcel-by parcel, house-byhouse delivery scheme. As a UPS execxutive noted last week : “You need density and scale to make money in transportation.” Which drones don’t deliver.
